WTF is a v-steam?
It's exactly what you think, a steam for your lady parts.
Why would I do that?
Many women find that steaming helps to reduce menstrual cramps, relieves vaginal pain, reduces recurrences of bacterial infections, improves quality of fertile mucous, and is just plain relaxing.
What else do I need to know?
The V-Steam Party is open to women age 18 and older. You should not steam if you are menstruating on the day of the event, if you have an active infection (yeast/bacterial/etc), have a fever or other contagious illness, or are pregnant/think you might be pregnant.
During this two-hour workshop, you will learn about the history and benefits of steaming, get to mix your own blend of steam herbs, experience the steaming process, have the opportunity to meditate, rest, relax and be pampered.
What do I need to bring?
All participants should bring:
-large pot (pasta pot or canning pot, taller is better than wider) with lid
-small hand towel/rag
-large, thick beach towel or oversized bath towel
-something to wear around your waist (this can be a maxi dress/long skirt, sarong, bathrobe or another large towel)
-warm socks or slippers
-OPTIONAL: mesh or woven bottom folding chair (beach or yard chair, not a sand chair that is low to the ground)
-BYOB (we will have water and tea available, but you are welcome to bring your favorite drink if you'd like)
We will be setting up the steams so people can stand, squat, or sit directly above their pots. If you don't think you'll be able to squat or sit that low, please bring a chair with you.
We will have some additional supplies but not enough for everyone. If you have difficulty finding any of the items, please contact us so we can help!
If you are unable to steam but would like to join us for the experience, please email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org, we are looking for "Steam Doulas" to help us during the event!
The $45 cost for this two-hour workshop includes light refreshments, handouts, and herbs for your steam.
